Poople is a daily word-ladder game where every puzzle starts with one four-letter word and ends with POOP. There is no story, character progression, map, or level campaign. The challenge is entirely based on changing letters while keeping every intermediate step as a valid English word. All players receive the same starting word for the daily puzzle, and the aim is to reach the target in as few moves as possible.

The player begins with the current four-letter starting word and enters another word that differs from it by exactly one letter. The new word then becomes the base for the next move. This process continues until POOP is reached. Players may change any of the four letter positions, but they cannot add letters, remove letters, or replace more than one letter in a single step. Invalid words are rejected.
Each daily puzzle follows the same structure:
· every word must contain exactly four letters;
· only one letter can change per move;
· each intermediate result must be a recognized word;
· POOP is always the final target;
· there is no limit on the number of guesses;
· each puzzle has a shortest possible solution called par;
· using extra steps produces a result above par.
Par is calculated from the minimum number of valid changes needed to connect the starting word to POOP. Many puzzles have more than one route that reaches the target in the same minimum number of moves. Most starting words can be completed in around four to six steps, while some of the longest routes require up to eleven.
A useful approach is to work toward words that are already one change away from POOP. Examples include COOP, LOOP, POOL, POOR, HOOP, and PROP. Players can also use well-connected intermediate words to create more possible routes and avoid words that leave very few valid next moves.
The daily game ends when the player reaches POOP. Afterward, the result shows how many steps were used compared with par. Poople also keeps track of daily results and streaks, while Unlimited mode provides additional random ladders that use the same one-letter-change rules without affecting the daily puzzle.
