Fishdle

Fishdle is a daily fish identification game where the player has to determine a mystery species from visual and comparison clues. The main Classic mode shows the silhouette of the fish and accepts typed guesses. After an incorrect answer, the game provides more information that can narrow the possibilities. There is no story, character campaign, or traditional level system. The objective is to identify the correct fish using as few guesses and hints as possible.

Guessing the Daily Fish

In Classic mode, the player studies the silhouette and enters the name of a fish. Fishdle accepts common names, scientific names, regional names, and translated names. Wrong guesses provide comparison information that helps show how close the guessed species is to the answer. After the fish is found, the game reveals a fact card with details such as appearance, habitat, size, and scientific classification.

Modes and Progress

Fishdle includes several different activities built around fish:

·         Classic, where the player identifies the daily fish;

·         Reef Keeper, where new species are discovered while developing a reef;

·         Abyss Run, which uses a branching submarine run through the ocean;

·         Fish Tide, where smaller fish are eaten while larger predators must be avoided;

·         Practice for additional puzzles;

·         Archive for previous Classic daily challenges;

·         Fishdex for tracking discovered species.

Scoring in the main puzzle rewards efficient play. Using fewer guesses and fewer hints produces a better result. Only the current daily games contribute to the daily streak, while Practice and Archive puzzles can be played separately. The Archive keeps earlier Classic puzzles available, so a player can return to fish that appeared on previous days.

How to Play

The basic approach is to inspect the fish shape first and think about visible features such as body length, fins, head shape, and overall proportions. The player then types a species name and uses the feedback from an incorrect guess to reduce the remaining possibilities. Additional hints can be requested when needed, but they lower the final score.

Once the correct fish is entered, the daily Classic puzzle is complete and information about that species becomes available. The other modes use different mechanics, but they stay focused on fish identification, collecting species, reef development, underwater movement, and survival. There are no conventional combat stages or narrative chapters connecting the modes.
