The categories can cover geography, sports, movies, music, history, science, food, brands, internet culture, and other subjects. There is no story, character progression, or campaign. The main objective is to identify all ten entries before losing all available lives.

Filling the Top Ten

The answers can be entered in any order. When the player submits a correct response, it automatically appears in its proper ranked position on the board. This means the player does not need to know which answer is first, second, or tenth before entering it. A wrong guess removes one of five hearts, while repeating an answer that has already been submitted does not cost a life.

Lives and Hints

Every puzzle uses the same basic set of rules:

·         find ten answers connected to the daily question;

·         type answers manually into the input field;

·         use five hearts for incorrect guesses;

·         enter correct answers in any order;

·         select a locked row to request a hint for that position;

·         use up to five hint steps during one puzzle;

·         complete the board before all hearts are lost.

The hint system has three stages. The first hint gives a clue related to the missing answer. The second reveals the first letter of each word while hiding the remaining letters. The third fills the answer automatically. Each stage uses one hint step, so fully revealing one answer costs three of the five available steps. Revealed answers still count toward completing the ten slots, but they are marked separately in the final result.

Daily Puzzle and Other Modes

The main Daily Tens puzzle gives everyone the same question. After a game finishes, the full ranked list is shown together with the metric used to create it, the date of the data, and the source. An archive contains previous puzzles, while Unlimited mode selects older puzzles at random and continues from one set to the next. Unlimited keeps the same ten-answer format, five hearts, and five hint steps.

To play, the user reads the category carefully, thinks of likely members of the top ten, types one answer, and submits it. Correct entries gradually reveal the ranking and can help identify what is still missing. The game ends when all ten answers are found or the player uses all five lives.
